Almost every person who uses Windows is very much familiar with this common and often used keyboard combination: CTRL+ ALT+DELETE. If you think about it, it is probably the most used combination of all, prompting many to say that Windows is an unstable operating system that just crashes for no apparent reason. But sometimes this combination is used not just because your computer freezes, but also so you can check the programs working at the background that might be hogging your system's resources and as such, causing your computer to slow down.

When you hit that combination, a pop up window will open called the Windows Task Manager. Now, what it will show you is more than just a listing of the programs that are currently running, but more importantly, the processes, or the operations that are running simultaneously. Often, you will not notice these processes as they usually work in the background. Just to give you a clear idea about it, you will see at the bottom left of the Task Manager window the word "Processes" with a corresponding number. That figure is the number of processes or operations currently running in your PC.

For your computer to run faster or smoother, you have to make some Registry tweaks, as it is mostly called. These are changes that you can make on these processes to free up some memory or system resources. This in turn will greatly contribute to a faster working PC.
